Browsing through the websites on bestwebgallery.com 9 out of 10 of the websites have one dominate image on the main page with little text they seem to follow the same themes of simplicity clean lines and use a limited colour pallet most commonly only using two colours that are normally contrasting colours between the text and the background.

Interview with web designer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lc1hfbKs1W8
This was an interesting interview of a lady which had designed a website for a movie. This is a good example of form following function or in this case the form following the plot of the movie. I quite liked how the page was set up to draw you into the site and uses different treatments of sound and imagery to relate to aspects of the movie.

What makes good web design?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5bnG4mth7o
Just to check i was heading the right direction with my website design i looked up what makes good web design?  and these were some of the key points :form follows function, one quality image on the front of the page is better than a crowded space (in most cases less is more),design around the information you want to convey and keeping the design clean and focuses on the information you are displaying. It is these key points that i have tried to follow through out my design process to insure my website is web worthy.I believe i have meet all of these points. My web page is easy to navigate is clean and displays its message clearly, the pictures are displayed one at a time in the slider which insures there is never an over crowded and each page sticks to the same base format. My images are of good quality and the content is written in a style that speaks to the audience.

Soundtracks for animation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DzKeeY_pNc
Looking at the different soundtracks dream works uses for their animations. Most of the sound tracks have little or no sound which makes it easier to match then a song with words. For my animation because of the beat of the walking movement it may pay to create my own sound track so i don't have to relate it back to a sound track with words or a particular beat.
